Would you want to if it were feasible? Well, according to scientist and author Ray Kurzweil, these concerns may become more relevant in the near future. He anticipates that we may uncover the key to immortality in the next 20 years. This may have everything to do with nanobots replacing our blood cells.

This might seem not only far-fetched but also a bit spooky. Kurzweil is very passionate about these ideas and so are some pretty well known people. Bill Clinton and Bill Gates are big advocates of Kurzweil’s ideas.

Rise of the nanobots?

Kurzweil’s thoughts on immortality might not be quite as far-fetched. According to the scientist, in about 20 years scientists will have identified ways to halt and turn back the aging process. Nanotechnology will then step in, he says. Specifically, nanobots will replace human’s blood cells. And, as Kurzweil puts it, they’ll do the work of these blood cells much more effectively.

Exponential technology

Kurzweil bases his predictions on the fact that technology is developing at an exponential rate. Taking this into consideration, immortality may be only a few more technological leaps away.

The bigger questions that arise out of this debate are: Should humans live forever? If we do, will the earth become overpopulated? Will this ruin our natural resources? Who’ll get to live forever? These are huge questions, which, if Kurzweil’s predictions come true, we will soon be facing.

>

[2

post-660","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-business-technology

Discovering Immortality May Be Right Around The Corner | Next Hop Solutions

<meta name="description" content="Discovering Immortality May Be Right Around The Corner.
